February 5, 2010, a Friday
Elephant Butte Lake State Park (South Monticello), New Mexico, USA
— Went to town and decided to stay here longer
Had my normal breakfast then printed out UPS shipping labels for the Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L USM (Mk I) and B+W 77mm slim UV and circular polarizer filters that I sold on eBay. I worked up a blog entry. We left at 11:10 in the Jeep.

We went to the Postal Express in Truth or Consequences so I could drop off the UPS packages.

We went to Cafe BellaLuca in Truth or Consequences around 11:40 for lunch. I had the Pasta of the Day (shrimp, linguini, and spicy marinara sauce), and J had soup (potato) and a salad. The food was delicious as always.

We went to the Computer Lab in Truth or Consequences at 12:22 to use their Wi-Fi connection. I started to upload images to my stock agent and download a system update. I left by myself at 12:47 and ...

Went to Soap-N-Suds in Truth or Consequences to start our laundry. After I put the laundry in the dryers, I left and ...

Went to Bullocks to pick up a box of Dare Maple Leaf Creme Cookies.

I returned to the Computer Lab at 1:50 to pick up J. Unfortunately, the net connection was really slow, and neither of us were done. I left by myself again and ...

Went back to Soap-N-Suds to finish the laundry.

I returned to the Computer Lab at 3:17, and my upload and download still wasn't done! J wasn't done yet with her uploads either. We finally gave up on the slow connection at 3:42.

We went to WalMart in Truth or Consequences for a few things.

We returned to the RV around 4:30. Robert, our amateur-astronomer neighbor, gave us a print of a picture he took of the Orion Nebula. I put away critical laundry items, then took down the Primos Vision Blind and put away our grill because we were planning to leave tomorrow. I put away the rest of my laundry.

We had dinner at 6:08 of white wine chicken over Trader Joe's basmati rice with green beans. The chicken was really bland and the basmati rice wasn't anything special either. J found the recipe for the chicken online and tried to kick it up a notch this morning when she put it in the crock pot, but it needed more help.

Andy Baird came over to our RV around 7:00 for fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies. As we were talking about various things, J and I decided to stay here a little longer because the weather's not predicted to be too good where we're going next. Andy left around 9:15.

I did some computer work before going to bed.
